This is England !

I'd like to think that I was born with a soul of a traveler. Traveling gives me a chance to see other parts of this world. Meet new people along the way ( hopefully some cute ones too, yeah ? WHAT ? I'm normal ),learn new cultures,see new places. Taste different sorts of food and drinks. And just feel that particular difference of being in another place. Being a total stranger in some place you don't fear. It's a chance to explore,baby !

I haven't seen much, but I have seen a few. And from all of those places I have not yet visit, England is most definitely a place I'd like to see. Why ? Well, I have tons of reasons for that.

The first is always,the accent.
Man, I envy the British. They have like, one of the sexiest accents. Ever.
A friend of mine once said that if you could understand what a British is saying, it wouldn't be difficult to understand others. So,yeah. To experience being surrounded by people,speaking with that distinctive thick accent,is my first reason. As common as it may be. haha.

Second,would be to witness the beauty of the land. From what I've seen - through movies,internet and friends' photos who are lucky enough to visit - England's got quite a breath taking sight. Old buildings, vintage looking pubs and houses. Maybe because it's a monarchy formed land, I don't know. But the ability to preserve all the original architecture and also keeping up with the quick changes of modernization - to keep them in balance - I say that's amazing. It would be awesome to be able to really all that. And take postcard size of them home.

But,if I were to study,my third reason would be for the education. Yes,that's a pretty obvious reason,no ? Haha. Okay, it might make me sound a bit nerdy or whatever, but I actually like learning. No,not studying. That word gives a bit more pressure to a person. Learning sounds more fun,yeah ? Quite possible it will expand my current knowledge. Me, who is majoring in English Literature, could definitely use the learning. All the usage of English, book reading, chances to actually see a play, visiting art galleries. That would be crazy fun for me,mate ! If I could experience all that, I think I'd be ready to die at any given time.
No, I mean it * puts on a very-very-VERY-serious look *

So,yeah. Those are the three main reasons or motivations to NOT say no if someone gave me free ticket to go to England. But, I still have one more reason. Ok, maybe two. They are both equally tacky. Haha. But, oh well.

Fourth reason is most definitely caused by my current addiction to this British Series,called SKINS.

MY GOD,THEY'RE ADDICTIVE !
The thing is, one of the obvious difference between American series/movies and British's is the sarcasm. British owns this level of sarcasm that's different from the Americans. The jokes are also a bit dry,mostly cynical but witty. Elements that could make me fall crazily in love. And, who knows, if I got the chance to go to there,I might meet one - or maybe two. Hopefully all of them though * greedy me * - of the cast.

Michael James Bailey, perhaps ?

He's suck a geek ! Me LOVES. Oh VERY much !

Or, even better, Jack O'Connell.

If I met one of them - better if both - I'd be -------- happy. D'oh !

Last and most probably the tackiest - corniest - lamest - reason of all is a simple wish that I might meet the man I'm still deeply in love with. Yeah yeaahh, mock me all you like,but it's LOVE I'm talking about here,mate ! It's meant to be tacky,corny and all that stuff,no ? He lives in Warwick. I don't know, the chances are a bit small though.

But it's free to hope,right ?

Who knows, I might just see him when I was standing at the Warwick Avenue Station, singing to Duffy's Warwick Avenue

So, there ya go ! My top five reasons. From the most common one to the most corny one. And until this very second, I'm still hoping that I could make it come true. You know, going there. That would be one of the best thing that could happen to me. Yes, I'll keep my fingers crossed ! :)

Man in The Mirror

Indonesia sedang berduka. Untuk yang kesekian kalinya. Entah kenapa,belakangan ini,bencana alam bisa disamakan dengan tabloid edisi mingguan. Hampir setiap minggu ,hampir bisa dipastikan ada bencana yang membuat siapa pun - harusnya - terdiam. Berfikir. Berdoa. Bertanya.

Um,maaf,apa tadi saya bilang, " entah kenapa " ?
Ok.
Ralat.

KITA - saya dan kamu - PASTI tau kenapa.
Bumi yang semakin tak terurus.
Manusia yang semakin tak mau tau.
Hidup yang semakin entah bagaimana.

Tolong dicatat , saya bukan anggota " Go Green ", " Save The Planet " atau apalah itu komunitas komunitas, atau jargon - jargon yang gak jarang hanya jadi sekumpulan orang yang berkumpul dengan perekat jargon - jargon itu tadi. Saya gak pernah bisa " join " di satu komunitas. Apa pun itu. Sampai sekarang.

Tapi...
saya tau benar, menebang pohon seenak dan segampang orang ngupil itu SALAH.
Ya,teman, itu SALAH !

Saya tau benar, membunuh binatang hanya untuk kesenangan pribadi atau hanya supaya kamu punya hiasan di ruang tamu rumah, itu SALAH !
Itu merusak ekosistem,ciiin.

Saya tau benar, menggunakan kantongan plastik saat saya ke mini-market untuk membeli sebatang coklat * masukkan merk favorit disini * dan sekaleng minuman ( atau beer juga boleh laaah ),itu SALAH.
Selain menambah sampah plastik, gaya banget lu,belanja cuma segitu , diplastikin.
IH HALOOH,PLISDEH.

Saya tau benar, banyak orang yang sudah tau apa yang seharusnya tidak boleh dilakukan ( tapi tetap dilakukan juga. D'ooh ! )

Saya gak akan langsung menyarakan orang untuk jadi orang yang LUAR BIASA sempurna dalam hal memperlakukan alam. Al Gore saja masih banyak dikritik [ geli dong ! Itu di KITIK-in,bos ! oh iya ] orang,karena walaupun dia termasuk salah satu orang yang paling rajin nyap - nyap soal global warming dan climate change, tapi dia juga - mungkin - termasuk penyumbang terbesar untuk emisi, yang berasal dari pesawat jet pribadinya [ maklum,kalo pejabat kemana - mana naik jet,bukan naik angkot ].
Dua hal yang sifatnya kontradiktif sekali bukaaan ?

Yang saya pengen harapkan hanyalah, sedikiiiiiiiiit saja keperdulian.

Saya juga bukan orang suci.
Saya orang Batak.
HALAH.

Saya juga masih belum maksimal berusaha untuk menjaga bumi ini.
Tapi,setidaknya,saya punya kesadaran.
Banyak orang sekarang ini,kesadaran aja gak punya.

Jangan cuma tau ngupdate status facebook setiap 5 menit sekali aja duong.
Jangan cuma tau posting di Twitter soal kamu lagi dugem dimana,atau baru beli celana dalem berharga sekian puluh juta.
Jangan cuma tau kalau Dewi Perssik (akhirnya) cerai dari Aldi Taher
* jedugin kepala ke bantal *

Saya juga belum bisa melakukan hal - hal besar.
Tapi,saya mau - dan masih - berusaha melakukan hal - hal kecil.

Saya yakin dan percaya, generasi muda Indonesia ini ( bisa jadi ) generasi muda yang cerdas.
KALAU mereka - kalau KITA - mau.

Tolong diingat, pada saat alam marah,manusia tidak akan bisa melawan.
Bahkan istilah dangdut, " semut aja kalau di'injek,nge'gigit " , itu tidak akan laku "dijual".
Karena alam,itu jauh lebih besar,lebih kuat dari manusia manapun.
Dan , kita, tidak seperti semut, TIDAK AKAN bisa "mengigit".
Sebaliknya,kita akan hancur lebur,rata dengan tanah.

Dan,BUKAN, saya bukan lagi ngomongin Alam penyanyi dangdut itu !

Jadi,ayo mulai dari diri sendiri.
Sambil sekaligus mengingatkan orang - orang disekitar.

Mungkin,kalau selama ini kamu enak - enakan hidup mewah dari hasil orangtua (atau anggota keluarga lainnya) menebangi habis hutan, coba bandingkan zona aman dimana kamu berada sekarang dengan keadaan beberapa tahun lagi disaat tak ada lagi hutan.

Mungkin,kalau selama ini,kamu bisa beli banyak alat elektronik terbaru atau pamer sepatu pualing muahal sedunia akhirat dari hasil mengobok - obok laut,menghancurkan terumbu karang dan sejenisnya,coba bayangkan pada saat tak ada lagi tanah untuk dipijak. Mau dipake kemana sepatunya,boooo ?

Coba sarankan mereka untuk cari harta dengan cara lain.
Cara yang tidak membuat umat manusia lain - nantinya - harus menanggung resiko dari apa yang TIDAK mereka lakukan.

Bisa ?

Saya yakin,pasti bisa.

KITA,bisa jadi generasi muda yang PINTAR, KALAU kita MAU !
